"Revolutionary Green" Mass.
Known for leading revolutions, in recent years Mass. has declared what the sustainable (social, economic and environmental) future can be at the local and state level. In January 2007, Boston demonstrated its leadership when it adopted "Article 37 - Green Buildings" - making it the first major U.S. city to adopt LEED standards into its zoning code for both the public and private sector. Other municipal programs state wide have demonstrated that Mass. is the nexus of innovative action around sustainable issues such as energy conservation and efficiency, green collar job training, green business development and distributed generation.
At the state level there has been remarkable work done by leaders who have proactively taken action on climate change. Governor Deval Patrick signed into legislation the Green Communities Act, The Green Jobs Act and most recently, the Global Warming Solutions Act. 2008 has been a shining year for Massachusetts and we are delighted to have you witness, experience and reflect with us as we plan a truly sustainable future.
Thank you!
