Goody Clancy receives Merit Award from International Downtown Association
The International Downtown Assn. has given its 2007 Merit Award in Planning to Goody Clancy of Boston.
Goody Clancy led the work for Planning District 1, one of the 13 district recovery plans created as part of the Unified New Orleans Plan process in response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
The work was submitted by the Downtown Development District of New Orleans.
The IDA said, "...the plan was revolutionary in its inclusiveness and its direct response to longstanding problems with land planning in New Orleans, and lays out a progressive and visionary framework for downtown and the French Quarter, embracing and reinforcing those elements that make New Orleans one of the great cities of the world."
