The Charles Realty has sold a 9-unit residential building located at 101 Beacon St. in Back Bay for $7.75 million. The historic building was originally built in 1862 for Arthur Lithgow Devens and has once been home to such notables as William Mountford, Percival Lowell Everett, and Augustus Thorndike. Later converted into residential units by architect Saul Moffie, this is the first time the property has changed ownership in 60 years.
Annette Given and Betsy Herald of The Charles Realty represented the seller and Giancarlo Tiberi and Zach Barron of Core Property Group represented the buyer. According to the city of Boston tax records this property is listed as a 10,575 s/f structure. The building will remain a rental property at this time.
