Gensler relocates office to One Beacon St. site

Gensler Boston has relocated its office to the recently renovated One Beacon St. Gensler applied its expertise to the new office, creating a space that encourages collaboration and innovation among the firm's 80-person team.  The office is a model for sustainable design and on track to receive a LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in the Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) category. Gensler selected One Beacon St. for its new office in part because the building planned to pursue LEED certification. For the design and construction of the Gensler space, the team followed sustainable procedures and worked with the contractor to recycle 92% of the construction waste. Only materials available locally (within a 500 mile radius) were specified, including the ceiling tile, carpet, wood, and lighting systems. In addition, Gensler purchased green power for the office and used strategically placed high-efficiency light fixtures which surpass building energy code standards by over 25%.
