Farrell of Cummings Properties assists Sage Science in 12,752 s/f lease at 500 Cummings Center

Sage Science has increased its footprint by more than 5,000 s/f at 500 Cummings Center. The fast-growing company, founded in 2005, develops products for the life sciences research markets. "We are very happy that Cummings Properties was able to find a perfect space for our ever-growing research and development needs," said Heather Ketcham, vice president of Sage Sciences' corporate operations. "Cummings' leasing and design staff made the process very easy. We love our new space." Sage recently moved to Suite 2400, the former research facility of Life Technologies, another life sciences firm that expanded and relocated elsewhere at Cummings Center. The 12,752 s/f space is half research and lab space and half office space. "Life sciences firms make up a significant portion of our client portfolio; as they grow and expand we often have available lab space that can accommodate clients' needs with limited buildout," said Cummings Properties senior account manager Mike Farrell, who worked directly with Sage on the expansion. Currently, Cummings Center leases more than 400,000 s/f to nearly 50 life sciences firms, including North Shore InnoVentures, a nonprofit cleantech and life sciences business incubator. "Sage Science has emerged as a rising star in the life sciences industry, and we are proud to include it in our cluster of biotech firms at Cummings Center. We look forward to watching it grow and accommodating its future facilities needs," said Farrell. Sage Science specializes in providing new systems to streamline and improve sample preparation workflows for protein and DNA analysis. Cummings Properties' 10 million s/f of prime space accommodates executive offices, healthcare facilities, laboratories, retail storefronts, warehouses, and more. With a portfolio of this size and variety, the firm can meet almost any commercial real estate need, from 150 s/f to 300,000 s/f.
