Engelberth Construction breaks ground on $7.5 million Cardigan Commons at Cardigan Mountain School - designed by OMR Architects

According to Engelberth Construction, Inc., Cardigan Mountain School has officially broken ground on the new $7.5 million Cardigan Commons. Cardigan Mountain School students, parents, members of its board of trustees, faculty members, and guests celebrated the start of construction with a groundbreaking ceremony during the school's spring family weekend. The 27,000 s/f facility will soon become the campus hub, with a new dining hall and kitchen, a student center, school store, mail room, presentation theater (movie, lecture, and meeting room), storage areas, and more. Centrally located between classrooms and athletic facilities, the Commons will include bright spaces and views of Canaan St. Lake and Mt. Cardigan. With transport and delivery vehicle access from Alumni Dr., the new facility will also enhance both safety and convenience for the entire Cardigan community. The Commons project is being led by Engelberth Construction project manager, Bob Mildrum, and superintendent Ed Madison. OMR Architects of West Acton, Mass. designed the new facility. Cardigan Mountain School is a junior boarding and day school for boys in grades six through nine, located in the White Mountains. Engelberth Construction, Inc., is a construction manager/general contractor with full-service offices in Colchester, Vermont and Keene, N.H. The company employs approximately 180 people on projects throughout Vermont, N.H., Maine, Mass., and N.Y.
