EMCOR's Tucker Mechanical awarded contract for installation of mechanical systems for renovations at St. Vincent's Medical

EMCOR Group, Inc.'s Tucker Mechanical subsidiary has been awarded a contract for the installation mechanical systems for a renovation project at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Tucker Mechanical will install mechanical systems in a 64,500 s/f renovated area on the hospital's main floor. Scope of work in this section will include demolition of existing mechanical systems and installation of new piping, insulation, and sheet metal. Additionally, new plumbing will be installed, including fixtures, as well as sanitary waste and vent, domestic water, and medical gas piping systems. Tucker will also be responsible for installing the fire protection system for the Hospital main floor and part of its second floor. Scope of work will include the removal of the existing sprinkler system and reinstallation of new fire protection systems. "It's an honor to again be selected to perform work at St. Vincent's, upgrading and modernizing systems we initially installed several years ago," said Robert Turner, president and CEO, Tucker Mechanical. St. Vincent's Medical Center (SVMC) is currently embarking on a $41 million Capital Campaign that will address the healthcare needs of the community for generations to come. The construction of a new wing, the expansion and modernization of Emergency Services, the enhancement of Oncology Services through the building of the Elizabeth M. Pfriem/SWIM Center for Cancer Care and the reorganization of hospital space, are all vital elements in this bold strategy. The result will be a sophisticated, user-friendly model Medical Center for all residents of this region. St. Vincent's Medical Center is a 397 bed acute care hospital.
