Ekotrope launches HomeSEED energy modeling and design tool for architects and builders

Ekotrope, an energy modeling company focused on the construction industry, launched its HomeSEED solution for architects and builders. The fully automated software solution, created by MIT technologists, performs energy and cost optimization for analysis and certification. It answers the need for a decision-support tool that guides clients, architects and builders in making rational decisions on energy systems in a timely and visual manner. Recently, the sustainable-construction market has grown rapidly due to stricter energy codes, tax and cash incentives, availability of cost-effective, energy-efficient solutions, expected energy cost growth and an overall desire to be more environmentally responsible. HomeSEED not only finds the best set of building components to meet client energy and cost goals, it also visually presents the financial benefits of energy-related capital investments, allowing architects and builders to easily demonstrate the pros and cons of specific energy-related components to their clients.
