Eckman Construction re-starts work on $27.6 million N.H. Army National Guard training institute and barracks facility

Eckman Construction has been selected as the construction manager to complete construction of the N.H. Army National Guard (NHARNG) regional training institute and barracks facility. The project is currently underway and is being administered by the State of N.H. Bureau of Public Works. Construction of the $27.6 million, 100,000 s/f facility stopped in 2012 when a previous construction contract with a Mass. general contractor was terminated. The building foundations and structural steel were only partially completed when Eckman Const. was hired to correct defective work and complete the remaining balance of the project as designed by Portsmouth-based architect and engineering firm, Oakpoint Associates. "We are excited to be working with the N.H. Army National Guard and the N.H. Bureau of Public Works to complete this important project for the state," said Mark Walsh, CEO, Eckman. "It's a great project which will support those committed individuals that serve our country. They deserve outstanding facilities that will help them stay at the top of their game, and that's exactly what we will deliver them." In addition to the regional training institute, Eckman Const. is also currently continuing work on projects at the N.H. Job Corps Center in Manchester and has recently completed a new student residence hall at St. Anselm's College in Goffstown.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
