Downes Construction Company hires DeMelo, Glynn, Gutsfeld, and Lucas

New Britain, CT Downes Construction Company has added several members to the Downes team including: Antonio DeMelo, project executive; Lawrence Glynn, chief estimator; Jeff Gutsfeld, vice president of business development; and Joseph Lucas, project manager.

DeMelo brings over 30 years of experience in the construction industry to Downes. He has extensive OPM experience in the RI market working with the Rhode Island Department of Education and medium to large CM projects. He has joined our RI OPM group helping manage the Providence Public schools contracts as well as other RI projects.

Glynn brings over 26 years of experience in the industry and spent a good deal of his career in New York, working on high profile projects including estimating, CM and GC proposals, value engineering, bidding and subcontractor selections, pricing change orders and management of estimating staff.

Gutsfeld has been in the CT and RI market place for 35+ years. Jeff is a marketing and business development professional who has been in the A/E/C industry for 25+ years. He has an extensive network of clients and industry professionals throughout New England that will aide in future opportunities for Downes, we are excited to have him and his expertise on our team.

Lucas has been in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry for nine years and comes to us from JCJ Architecture. Lucas has experience working in a variety of markets, specializing in higher education and K-12 facilities, recently completing the new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Campus in Hartford.
