Dimeo celebrates topping-off of 52,000 s/f “The Jo” at Holy Cross

Worcester, MA A topping-off celebration for the new Joanne Chouinard-Luth Recreation and Wellness Center, a facility for campus recreation and intramural sports at the College of the Holy Cross, designed by Cannon Design, was held on September 18th.

The new 52,000 s/f facility — referred to as ‘The Jo’ — will offer a new home to campus recreation, through a range of fitness and wellness spaces, including sports courts, weight rooms, a golf simulator, three rooms for yoga, cycling and fitness, and a one-tenth-mile suspended jogging track overlooking the city.

The three-story facility will also be home to club and intramural sports and house an expanded office for public safety. Even the vending machines are getting an upgrade and will offer all-healthy options. The Jo is slated for completion by fall 2020.

“Today we celebrate side by side with College of the Holy Cross, Cannon Design and their partners, Skanska, the trade contractor workforce, the student body, and numerous other stakeholders as we top off the superstructure of this amazing facility.  We look forward to the safe and successful completion of the project next summer!” said Dimeo senior project manager Scott Eaton.
