Development Associates demolishes Clarion Hotel & Conference Center

Northampton, MA According to Development Associates, they have begun demolition of the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center located at 1 Atwood Dr. to make way for a new 60,000 s/f medical/office facility. The Clarion Hotel, formerly the Colonial Hilton, was in business for 47 years and closed it’s doors on November 16, 2015.

Development Associates is working to secure the anchor tenant for the property and expects to have a commitment soon. This next building at the I-91 Professional Center development will add to the 70,000 s/f of class A medical/professional office space recently built on Atwood Dr.

The I-91 Professional Office Center along with the upcoming construction of Phase 3 is developed, managed and leased by Development Associates. The principles of Development Associates have been involved with the development and construction of hundreds of buildings, including build-to-suit projects from 1,200 to 200,000 s/f, for over 50 years. They manage over 2 million s/f of properties from New Haven, Conn. to Greenfield, Mass.

According to Ken Vincunas, one of the principles of Development Associates, “The development of the Northampton I-91 Professional Center has been extremely successful to date. With the development of 8 and 22 Atwood Dr., we have provided custom-built quality spaces for tenants such as Cooley Dickinson Health Care Corp., Clinical & Support Options, Inc. and New England Dermatology. We look forward to satisfying the needs of additional regional and national clients as we turn to the next exciting phase of this development project.”
