The Davis Cos. signs Civetta to 29,871 s/f lease at The Quad

The Quad at 10 Wilson Road - Cambridge, MA

Cambridge, MA According to The Davis Cos., Civetta Therapeutics, LLC leased 29,871 s/f of laboratory and office space at The Quad at 10 Wilson Rd. Civetta Therapeutics is a biotechnology company focused on developing therapeutics for cancer and other diseases.

McKenna Teague of CBRE represented the tenant, Civetta Therapeutics, and Eric Smith of CBRE represented the landlord, a joint venture between The Davis Cos. and Invesco.

The Quad is a 510,000 s/f life science campus comprising four new and redeveloped life science/lab/R&D buildings. It is located just minutes from Alewife Station, the anchor of the MBTA’s Red Line, connecting the region’s top talent and well-educated work force in West Cambridge with Harvard Square, Kendall Square, Downtown Boston, and the Seaport neighborhood.

“We are thrilled to welcome Civetta Therapeutics to The Quad,” said Duncan Gilkey, head of leasing at The Davis Cos. “With a near zero percent lab vacancy rate in Cambridge’s Kendall Square laboratory arena, we’re seeing growing demand for life science and biotech space in the Alewife area as growing companies like Civetta continue to place importance on access to top industry talent and proximity to its peers. The Quad campus offers added appeal in that we are bringing more Class-A lab inventory online in the upcoming years to sustain future growth.”

“The Quad offers the life science and biotech communities a unique opportunity to expand into a new, urban campus setting in West Cambridge’s innovation cluster,” said Smith. “The Quad encompasses nearly 10 acres of land and with construction nearly complete at 10 Wilson Road, the new campus has positioned itself as a welcome relief valve for rapidly growing life science and biotech companies.”

Civetta was founded by Deerfield Management and scientific leaders William Sellers, MD and Eric Fischer, PhD. Dr. Sellers is a Core Institute Member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and a Professor of Medicine at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Fischer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School and an Independent Investigator at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

“It’s a very exciting time for us. As an emerging company committed to advancing research and new medicines, we were seeking a new research and operational home that would suit our energy and passion while also maintaining close bonds to the biopharma community. 10 Wilson and The Quad will offer existing and new Civetta employees a fresh campus feel that encourages collaboration, ingenuity, and discovery,” said Bruce Goldsmith, PhD, Interim CEO for Civetta Therapeutics.

The Quad (10 Wilson Rd., 75 Moulton St., 101 Smith Place, and 40 Smith Place) is an ideally situated campus, at the intersection of Cambridge and the MetroWest suburbs near Alewife via Rte. 2, offering tenants a thriving live-work-play dynamic with a wide amenity base nearby. As an added benefit, The Quad also joins over 1,002,180 s/f of occupied space filled with similar innovative tenants.
