Cummings Properties signs McLane to 21,300 s/f at TradeCenter 128

Cummings Properties completed a new 21,300 s/f lease at TradeCenter 128 with McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton, reportedly the largest law firm in New Hampshire. According to Cummings Properties account manager Shannon Haines, McLane opened its first Woburn office in 2008, occupying just 1,700 s/f. The firm's newest space is in the same building at the TradeCenter 128 campus, immediately adjacent to the Middlesex Superior Court. Located on the seventh floor, it will feature an 80-seat conference center and views of the Boston skyline. The recent addition of attorneys and staff brought McLane's current office to maximum capacity. Anticipating more new hires in 2013, the firm decided to embark on its fourth expansion in four years. Mike McCluskey, McLane's executive director, said, "Over the years as we grew, Cummings Properties worked with us several times to allow for expansion. It has been convenient to grow in the same facility without moving to another building." Currently, 17 attorneys work at McLane's TradeCenter 128 office, while many more split their time between Woburn and the firm's Manchester, Concord, and Portsmouth, N.H. offices. The Woburn location focuses on corporate and tax matters, as well as estate planning, trusts, real estate, and business litigation. According to McCluskey, "A key part of our growth is our location outside of Boston, which positions our firm as a better value, since we do not incur the high costs of being located downtown. A lot of clients started to push back on the high rates of Boston firms and were willing to give us the opportunity for business."

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
