Cummings Properties' 12 Cabot Road used as recent Top Chef location

As fans of Bravo TV's hit reality cooking show wait to see who will be crowned Top Chef: Boston, Cummings Properties can now reveal that its 12 Cabot Rd. property was the top-secret location of the Top Chef kitchen this past summer. In one month, the Top Chef team constructed a world-class kitchen, where competitors-including Boston's own Stacy Cogswell, who was unfortunately sent home in episode 6-sliced and diced their way through 12 episodes. The commercial real estate firm provided 15,000 s/f of warehouse as well as 9,000 s/f of office space to Top Chef last May and June. Cummings' design and construction crews worked closely with Top Chef's crews to secure permits and address site needs. "The Top Chef team completely transformed the space in a matter of weeks," said Cummings Properties account manager Robb LaBossiere. "It was something to witness." This is not the first time a Cummings Properties location has been in the limelight, according to LaBossiere. Commercials for Dunkin' Donuts, Subway, Connecticut State Lottery, and WB Mason, have all been filmed at various Cummings buildings. Making a 30-second commercial requires the complex coordination of dozens of people and many moving parts. With its own design and construction crews and diverse portfolio, Cummings is a natural production partner. "Word has spread with production companies that Cummings Properties provides many sites to choose from and is willing to lease space for any time period, even as little as one day," said LaBossiere. At Cummings Properties' Cummings Center in Beverly, Hollywood came calling more than once. The campus was home to an interior sound stage for the Oscar-winning film The Crucible, and the Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy The Proposal also filmed there. Cummings Properties' 10 million s/f of prime space accommodates offices, healthcare facilities, laboratories, retail storefronts, warehouses, co-working spaces, executive suites, and more. With a portfolio of this size and variety, the firm can meet almost any commercial real estate need from 150 square feet to 300,000 s/f. Its in-house experts in design, construction, and property management offer "one-stop shopping" for leasing clients.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
