CTA Construction completes new 50,000 s/f Tufts Library

Weymouth, MA CTA Construction Managers completed the new Tufts Library – a 50,000 s/f facility located on Broad St.

The new library features an expanded children’s literature department, several community meeting rooms, innovative technological advancements, and an outdoor amphitheater.

In addition, the building features a large lobby with a café for patrons, a digital media lab with updated computer software and space designated specifically for teen activities.

“This project is very special as it represents such an important community resource that will enable programming for people of literally every generation in Weymouth,” said Paul DuRoss, principal at CTA Construction. “It’s also a project that encountered some unexpected challenges with COVID-19 impacts, and I’m happy to say our team along with all those involved overcame them with great success.”

CTA Construction worked closely with project architect Tappe Architects, Inc. and the owner’s project manager, Hill International, on the Tufts Library project. It was a cooperative venture between the town and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, which awarded the town over $12 million for the construction of a new library. The town is currently moving into the new facility and planing an opening later in the month.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
