Consigli recipient of Distinguished Citizen Award

The Knox Trail Council of the Boy Scouts of America has named Anthony Consigli, president of Consigli Construction Co. as the recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Citizen Award, which is presented to individuals who have excelled in their chosen careers and attained an exceptional level of achievement in personal leadership and success. Consigli was honored at a dinner, at the Doubletree Hotel. The dinner serves as the Knox Trail Council's largest annual fund-raising event, with proceeds going to support the scouting programs throughout the 21 communities served by the Council in the Metro West region of Mass. Representing the fourth generation of the Consigli family, Consigli has led the company in its transformation from a small general contractor to a 400 person organization overseeing complex work across New England with offices in Portland, Maine and Enfield, Conn.  The firm's clients include Clark University, Trinity College, the Portland Sea Dogs, UMass Medical School, the Greater Boston Food Bank and Bowdoin College.  Consigli served as chairman for the Associated General Contractors of Mass., and is involved with organizations, sitting on the board of directors for the Milford Regional Medical Center Foundation and Preservation Mass. Consigli has also previously served as an executive board member of the Knox Trail Council. "We are pleased to honor Anthony Consigli as an individual who, by personal example, has demonstrated integrity and an unselfish concern for others in both his business and personal life," said Dennis Prefontaine, Scout Executive for the Knox Trail Council. "Anthony, also an Eagle Scout, represents the ideals of Scouting by virtue of his successful career, his leadership of one of the region's leading construction management and general contracting firms, and his service to the community."
