Connolly Brothers finishes gym at Covenant Christian Academy - with BLW Engineers; Hayes Engineering; and JSN Associates

West Peabody, MA Connolly Brothers, Inc., a construction management firm serving private commercial, industrial, and institutional clients, has completed of a new gymnasium at Covenant Christian Academy, a private christian and classical day school.

Selected as the design/build construction manager during the early stages of project conception, Connolly worked closely with CCA to ensure the design of the new facility served a variety of needs and fit the school’s budget. The new 12,505 s/f gymnasium features bathrooms, lockers rooms, offices, reception area, and a large paver brick patio space connected to the existing school with a glass enclosed hallway. To address material supply issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic Connolly coordinated with sub-contractors, suppliers, CCA, and the city to successfully deliver the new space to the school in an efficient manner.

“We are so grateful to the alumni, parents, past parents, grandparents, and friends of Covenant who have generously contributed to the construction of the beautiful, new Performing Arts & Athletics Center which will help us to successfully continue to fulfill our mission,” said David Anastasi, CFO at Covenant Christian Academy, and Covenant’s project manager for the new facility. “Connolly Brothers was a true partner throughout the design and construction process. This beautiful new space will be used by our school and the surrounding community for sports, fine arts performances and gatherings for years to come.”

Design-build is the fastest-growing method for construction project delivery in the U.S. and Connolly Brothers Inc. has selectively employed this method on many projects since before the term was widely used. The company has done so due to design-build’s efficiencies of cost and time, and because it can be a more collaborative approach that provides the client with a single point of responsibility. Unlike many design/build firms, Connolly Brothers employs full time in-house architects and drafters to design all their projects, so it is a true team effort from day one of every design/build project. With design, estimating, and project management working together in the same office, it means the company can easily bring together all the appropriate departments to make critical decisions and analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

Project team members include:

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
