Connecticut Commercial closes $1.755 million sale

The Somers office of Connecticut Commercial Realty & Select Homes has completed the sale of a 27-acre parcel located at 1617 King St. Christy Ryan, of Connecticut Commercial's Somers office, represented the seller, Kei-Bo & Wu, Inc in the transaction. The property was purchased by the Capital Region Education Council (CREC) for $1.755 million, and will be the site of their new Public Safety Academy. The property originally consisted of 36 acres, 27 acres purchased by CREC and an additional 9 acres that were donated by the seller to the Northern Connecticut Land Trust. CREC plans to build a new facility on the site for the Public Safety Academy. The academy will be able to educate 700 students in grades 6-12 in a new 150,000 s/f facility. The seller was represented in the sale by Attorney James Byrne of Byrne & Storm, PC of Hartford, while the buyer was represented by Shawn McMahon of Jones Lang LaSalle Americans, Inc and by Attorney Victor Morganthaler of Mayo Crowe LLC, also of Hartford.
