Connecticut CCIM welcomes leading economists for June 1st symposium

Cromwell, CT On June 1st, the Connecticut CCIM Chapter welcomes CCIM Institute chief economist KC Conway, CCIM, CRE, MAI as the keynote speaker of its mid-year economic symposium taking place at TPC River Highlands.

Conway will lead the panel with insights as to where commercial real estate markets may be headed in 2023, and how are cap rates, the banking crisis, and commercial mortgage-backed security loan maturities are affecting commercial real estate. Leveraging key figures like inflation, housing data, and confidence indices, the panel will examine major trends that impact primary CRE sectors like office, industrial, retail, and multifamily. 

Conway is a recognized subject matter expert in the areas of banking, economics, housing, industrial CRE (especially ports and logistics), real estate finance, and valuation. Conway is a graduate of the Emory University School of Business and holds both the MAI appraisal designation and the prestigious CRE (Counselor of Real Estate) designation. Since 2005, Conway has made in excess of 750 presentations to a broad range of industry groups, including the Federal Reserve, FDIC, American Bankers Association, Appraisal Institute, Commercial Real Estate Finance Council, Counselors of Real Estate, as well as numerous primary academic institutions and state and local governmental authorities. 

Rounding out the panel are top industry analysts Thomas LaSalvia and Lonnie Hendry. Thomas LaSalvia, Ph.D., is a senior economist with Moody’s Analytics. He specializes in commercial real estate across all property types and curates CRE models and supported credit risk analysis for a variety of clients.

Lonnie Hendry, CRE, is senior vice president of Trepp. With a background spanning 20 years in the commercial real estate industry, Hendry specializes in valuation, appraisals, analytics, modeling, and financial analysis. 

The panel will be moderated by Stanley Gniazdowski, CRE, CCIM, president of Realty Concepts, Inc. a Connecticut-based international real estate consulting and advisory group.

He specializes in investment analysis and structuring, development market analysis and impact analysis, litigation support, specialized appraisal work and asset management.

The Connecticut Chapter will welcome its special guest, 2023 CCIM Institute president-elect, D’Etta Casto-DeLeon, CCIM, who is a senior portfolio manager at CBRE Loan Services in Houston, TX.
