First Wind is an independent North American wind energy company focused exclusively on the development, ownership and operation of wind farms. We were founded by individuals who had successfully developed and operated wind energy projects in Italy and sought to apply their skills and experience in the rapidly growing markets of North America. We currently focus on developing wind farms in the northeastern and western regions of the U.S. and in Hawaii, and are already producing 274 MW of energy through three operating wind farms. First Wind is currently developing wind energy projects in several markets through various subsidiary companies.
