Twenty years ago, Stephen Wessling launched
Wessling Architects in the basement of his home. Today,
Wessling Architects is an award winning full service architectural firm with a broad level of experience and a long track record of success in architecture, building restoration, interior design and professional services. Wessling Archts. is registered in 15 states with a client base of more than 300 world-wide.
What sets Wessling apart from other architectural firms is their ability to solve problems. The depth of experience and knowledge they have gained from studying and diagnosing why there are so many premature building failures enables them to provide the most cost effective solution to problems. They transfer this knowledge to the buildings they design providing the contractors the drawings and details that are so very important to give them direction for a successful building.
Wessling said "Architecture is a field for both the patient and determined. It is an endurance test like life." Wessling describes the best part of his job as "helping our clients achieve their goals and providing the expertise to design their buildings so it is aesthetically pleasing, functions properly and has the flexibility it needs to adapt to the ever changing world we live in. It is about creating a building of lasting value."
The depth of knowledge on building failures and remedies has
Wessling Architects sought out to serve as a consultant to clients, colleagues and professional association. Wessling's practice has come to focus on building exteriors and historical restorations, including the replacement of rare steel windows at an MIT building. The firm also designed a new roof for the TD Garden.
Wessling Archts. has recently been awarded the contract for Architectural Peer Review Services for the city of Quincy. In that role, Wessling Archts. will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure that city has exceptional support in the review of various documents, plans, and oversight of construction activities for the historic $1.6 billion Quincy Center re-development scheduled to break ground in 2013.
Wessling has numerous affiliations that include: New England Chapter Roof Consultants Institute, Boston Preservation Alliance, International Code Council, Construction Specifications Institute, National Fire Protection Association, Boston Society of Architects, Preservation Mass., American Institute for Architects, and Building Owners Management Association, (BOMA).
Stephen Wessling's passion for excellence in his work is matched by his never ending drive to serve the community and those in need. He has created an organization built on community and giving back with active involvement in many organizations that include; My Brother's Keeper, South Shore Habitat for Humanity, BOMA Boston Benefits, Father Bill's and Mainspring, Hearts for Haiti, and Elizabeth Seton Academy.
"The focus of the firm is always on the future and client needs. The philosophy is one of teamwork, collaboration and encouraging all to reach their full potential by continuous learning and moving out of their comfort zone to take on new challenges. This builds the knowledge and confidence needed to grow and stay competitive in today's environment and ensures that our clients receive the best service possible." said Wessling.
