City Realty Group donates laptops to help kids learn at home

Boston, MA City Realty Group  donated new Chromebooks to help underserved local students continue learning at home during the coronavirus pandemic. School officials estimate that at least 15% of all city public school students do not have access to a computer at home. Since the coronavirus pandemic struck, many schools have tried to adapt to online classes. But this is not possible for far too many whose families cannot afford technology resources.

City Realty Group has delivered new Google Chromebooks to the homes of a dozen kids in Dorchester and Roxbury.

The students were selected through The BASE, the Roxbury-based nonprofit which supports education and athletic opportunities for urban youth. City Realty Group, through its own nonprofit organization called City Kids, is a longtime partner of The BASE, working together to expand educational opportunities for children living at or near the poverty line.

“During this challenging time, we cannot forget those children who lack the resources to effectively learn at home,” said Stephen Whalen of Boston, managing partner at City Realty Group and founder of City Kids. “Our community-based initiatives focus on leveraging new technologies to provide kids with powerful tools to follow their educational curiosity. We are proud to give these kids a chance to learn at home during this pandemic.”

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
