City Point Partners forms public outreach team lead by Nolan and Sgroi

Boston, MA City Point Partners has formed a public outreach team. The team has experience implementing industry-standard public participation programs which engage stakeholders at the earliest stages. Through a coordinated process of public dialogue and information, they address concerns, provide accurate and consistent project information and updates, and work to develop community support.

The public outreach team is led by Joe Nolan. He is a 23-year veteran of the MBTA having implemented the current MBTA public outreach program on the Greenbush Commuter Rail project as the MBTA executive project coordinator. Nolan’s current assignments for City Point include public outreach services for MBTA projects including the rehabilitation of the Fitchburg Commuter Rail Line, the infrastructure improvements to the Red and Orange Lines and the initial phases of construction for the Green Line Extension project.

Supporting Nolan is Joe Sgroi, who has overseen an array of community outreach initiatives throughout his career. Many of these initiatives were undertaken while in his role as the chief of staff to state representative William Greene. Sgroi has also developed public outreach strategies that engage multiple constituents who are affected by public construction projects.

Currently, he is providing public outreach services on the MBTA’s Green Line Extension project for City Point.

Some of the public outreach services they offer: • Public meeting coordination; • Coordination with municipal governments; • Website and “hot line” support; • Community issue identification; and • Message development.
