Brookline, MA Chestnut Hill Realty (CHR) continues its investment in the Hancock Village apartment home community and its commitment to expanding local housing options with the recent addition of a three-story, 36-unit building. The Josiah Bartlett Building at 120 Gerry Rd. represents one phase of an ambitious multi-year plan that will include 175 units later this summer and the 250-unit Franklin building in spring 2024.

The Bartlett Building, comprising open concept one- and two-bedroom styles, offers elevator accessed garage parking. Residents will also enjoy the soon-to-be-completed 25,000 s/f Hancock Village Community Center which will boast an outdoor pool, fitness center, home office center, game room, Wi-Fi lounge, internet café, and activity rooms.

“The severe housing shortage over the past several years has placed a premium on rental options,” said CHR CEO Ed Zuker. “The new Bartlett Building and our total of 425 new units help fill a critical need in Boston and represents our investment in a strong local economy and higher quality of life for area residents.”

Hancock Village, owned and managed by CHR since 1986, is an 80-acre townhome-style apartment complex built in the 1940s. CHR has continued to reinvest in the community over the years, including extensive renovations to contemporize the apartments to meet today’s lifestyles and tastes. Later this year, construction will be completed for an additional 175 units, and in 2024 a six-story 250-unit building will be introduced.

When all projects are completed, Hancock Village will offer over 1,300 one-, two- and three-bedroom single-level and townhome-style units, providing a range of desirable housing options for young professionals, families, and empty nesters in the Chestnut Hill community.

To mark the building’s opening, Chestnut Hill Realty presented the Brookline Teen Center with a donation of $25,000. The Teen Center provides Brookline youth with a safe place to spend out-of-school time engaging in both formal and informal activities centered around academic enrichment, physical activity and socio-economic health.
