Campanelli Const. completes 375,000 s/f renovation for O'Reilly Auto Part's distribution center

Campanelli Construction has completed construction of the 370,000 s/f renovation of O'Reilly Auto Parts distribution center. "We are excited to have completed renovations of our facility in Devens. This is a big step for the company as we look to expand in the Northeast. Campanelli has been a pleasure to work with every step of the way; they paid great attention to detail, consistently looked out for our interest, met an aggressive schedule, found solutions for every complication and executed on everything promised." said Tim Scholl, director DC field projects of O'Reilly Auto Parts. Located at 15 Independence Dr., O'Reilly purchased this Class A industrial asset in the fall of 2013. The distribution center, previously built by Campanelli Construction for another client in 2000, underwent significant interior renovations. The building, electrical and mechanical systems were all upgraded, conveyor and racking systems were installed and an office, conference and training area were incorporated into the building. Devens continues to be a hub for manufacturing and distribution facilities in Mass. The city is geographically central to major cities in New England; Devens is 35 miles northwest of Boston, 30 miles from Worcester, 37 miles from Manchester, N.H. and 67 miles Providence. O'Reilly's new facility is part of a 4,400 acre master-planned business park named the Devens Commerce Center. Campanelli Const. is working on construction projects across the U.S. Most recently they broke ground on Upland Woods Apartments, a 262-unit apartment community in Norwood, Mass. Upland Woods Apartments will feature a range of apartment styles arranged in seven, four-story buildings each with elevator service along with a clubhouse, pool, and a wide range of other amenities. The project will be will be ready to move in its first residents during the summer of 2015 and is expected to be complete early the following year. Another current Campanelli Construction project is the renovation of High Point Hospital in Middleborough, Mass. This vacant former Cranberry Specialty Hospital is being transformed into a state-of-the-art 72-bed psychiatric hospital. Pete Brown, director of business development at Campanelli Construction, emphasized that "the High Point project emulates the epitome of the Campanelli vertically-integrated approach to construction management of complicated projects. The company offered a custom, strategic pre-construction service for the project, enabling its success after an extensive permitting and approval process." Since founding in 1947, Campanelli Construction has built over 15 million square feet of industrial facilities for national clients including FedEx, Gillette, Christmas Tree Shops, Preferred Freezer Services and AT&T. They are named each year on the Boston Business Journal's Area's Largest General Contractor List and have won the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Massachusetts' Safety Award for the past eight years. O'Reilly Auto Parts is one of the largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies and equipment in the U.S. The company is publicly owned and operates over 4,300 stores in 43 states.
