Cambridge, Mass. - Chauncy Court

Just north of bustling Harvard Square sit three beautiful turn of the century apartment buildings, with an eclectic mix of residents. These are all classic buildings with a real Cambridge feel, convenient to Harvard Square and all its amenities. "In addition to the wonderful location, the three Cambridge buildings are an attractive place to live due to Chestnut Hill Realty's commitment to maintaining them in the highest quality manner," said vice president of property management David Risko. "This is evident by the ongoing unit renovations, and the landscaping," Risko said. Chauncy Court The largest of the three Harvard Square properties is 18-26 Chauncy St., a four story, brick façade apartment building built in 1890. The building has 98 residential units, ranging from studios to two bedroom apartments. Chestnut Hill Realty bought the property from the Harlow family in 1986. Chestnut Hill Realty re-designed the entire courtyard. New brick paved walkways were installed and the courtyard was landscaped with Azalea, Holly, Boxwood, Rhododendron, and Rose of Sharon bushes, as well as Dogwood, Magnolia and Pear trees. At Chauncy Court, common areas were rewired and the hallways renovated. CHR installed a new rubber roof and energy efficient double hung windows. A new laundry room was added to complement the existing laundry facilities in the building. Also the hot and cold water main plumbing lines were upgraded to improve efficiency and resident comfort in the building.
