Callahan Construction Managers tops-off 178,000 s/f The Beam

New London, CT Callahan Construction Managers (Callahan) has topped off The Beam. The project is being developed by RJ Development + Advisors with Svigals + Partners serving as the architect. The Beam will welcome residents when complete and will being pre-leasing in winter of 2022.

Located blocks away from the Thames River and Fort Trumbull state park, this development will consist of a 203-unit, five-story building across a 178,000 s/f wood-framed building. The unit mix includes studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom + den, and two-bedroom floor plans. Resident amenities include a club room, fitness center, a work-from-home business center, and an outdoor grilling area with fire pit and lounge. From the roof deck, residents will be able to enjoy views of the river and park.

“We are thrilled to continue construction in the Connecticut market,” said Patrick Callahan, president of Callahan Construction Managers.

“Reaching this milestone represents significant work by our team and all our partners in this process. We’re looking forward to the opening of The Beam.”

Breaking ground in September of 2021, this milestone marks the completion of the vertical structure. The project includes 13 rammed aggregate piers installed for ground improvement and shallow foundations, as well as an emergency diesel generator and gas throughout the building supplies unit HVAC and ranges.
