Burgess of Burgess Properties Inc. brokers $7 million sale to Hoff's Bakery

Burgess Properties Inc., one of Greater Boston's premier commercial brokerage firms, has brokered the $7 million sale of 35 Green St. to Hoff's Bakery. Hoff's Bakery will be more than tripling the size of its current 30,000 s/f Medford facility when it moves into the 100,000 s/f 35 Green St. later this year. The property will first undergo a complete transformation from a straight warehouse building into a commercial bakery. Phil Burgess, president of Burgess Properties, Inc. who brokered the transaction, said, "Hoff's huge investment in construction and equipment to create this new facility will result in significant permanent job creation. Because of these factors, this was a deal that attracted the attention of both local and state leaders. Hoff's represents something we need to see more of in this state and that is the growth of locally owned manufacturing companies. The city of Malden offered significant real estate tax relief and along with Mass Development incentives and Brookline Bank's participation, a very attractive financing package was brought together to make this deal work." Burgess was the sole broker in the transaction. Founded in 1997, Burgess Properties is one of Greater Boston's premier suburban full-service commercial brokerage firms specializing in the sale and leasing of office, industrial and other commercial properties. Hoff's Bakery is a family owned business located in Medford, producing gourmet desserts for the retail and food services trades since 1983. Hoff's Bakery has been built on quality, consistency, and service. Their skilled artisan bakers are committed to creating the highest quality desserts possible. This commitment has positioned Hoff's as a premier manufacturer of gourmet desserts. Hoff's Bakery is a forward thinking, family owned and professional company which retains the personal touch and firmly believes that success depends on the supply of high quality products, packages and services that meet or exceed customer and consumer expectations. Hoff's Bakery is one of the elite companies in the country to be a Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 3 Certified Supplier by the SQF Institute, a division of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI).

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
