Buchok of EMCOR earns PMI's PMP credential

Jim Buchok, a project manager with EMCOR Energy Services (EES), has earned the Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional or PMP. He also obtained certification from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) as a Distributed Generation Certified Professional (DGCP). To obtain a PMP credential, an individual must satisfy education (35 hours) and experience (no less than 4500 hours) requirements, agree to adhere to a professional code of conduct and pass the PMP examination. Buchok has more than 30 years of experience in the HVAC and energy management industry. At EMCOR Energy Services he is responsible for managing projects involving the installation of building automation systems, and design and construction of large tonnage industrial cooling plants and cogeneration power plants. Buchok earned an associates degree in engineering technology from Northwestern Community Technical College and a bachelor's in corporate and organizational management from the University Of Connecticut. Certified as an energy manager by the Association of Energy Engineers, he also holds an unlimited heating-cooling contractor's S-1 license from the State of Connecticut. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) as well as the Project Management Institute. In 2008, he won an award from Pratt & Whitney for his contributions to the successful completion of a combined heat and power plant. He is also a recipient of the United Technologies Corporation Scholar Award and the 2007 Carrier Corporation Project Manager Award for Excellence.
