Brogan joins Tighe & Bond's Portsmouth office as senior geotechnical engineer

David Brogan, P.E., recently joined Tighe & Bond, Inc. as a senior geotechnical engineer who will work out of the firm's growing Portsmouth office. He has more than 13 years of experience providing geotechnical consulting to public and private clients to support their service needs across a wide spectrum of construction and redevelopment projects. This includes land redevelopment, shoreline stability, public utilities and infrastructure, as well as commercial, industrial, and residential structures. Brogan's areas of expertise include slope analysis and stabilization, ground improvement techniques, as well as infrastructure evaluation and improvement. He has developed and overseen subsurface exploration and instrumentation programs, analyzed and designed foundations, evaluated and implemented ground improvement methods, provided conventional and porous pavement design, as well as evaluated and designed earth retaining structures. In addition, he has analyzed and evaluated options for stabilizing riverbanks and seawalls. "David's geotechnical expertise strengthens the full service capabilities of our Portsmouth office, and reinforces our growing presence in New Hampshire, Maine, and eastern Massachusetts," said vice president Gregg Mikolaities. "We welcome David's experience to support our growing geotechnical work that includes dams, coastal structures and landfill projects." A resident of South Berwick, Maine, Brogan earned his master of science in ocean engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and his bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of New Hampshire. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Geo-Institute, the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, and Engineers without Borders. Founded in 1911, Tighe & Bond is one of the most experienced engineering firms in New England, with offices in Pocasset, Westfield, and Worcester, Massachusetts; Middletown and Shelton, Connecticut; and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
