Brock, Gallagher and Donato of Nitsch earn CFM

Chief engineer Sandra Brock, PE, LEED AP BD+C; project manager Anthony Donato, PE, LEED AP; and senior project engineer Aaron Gallagher, PE, LEED AP BD+C of Nitsch Engineering have earned the designation of Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM). Floodplain management has become increasingly important as flood disaster losses have increased. According to the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), CFMs use their knowledge and abilities to "help reduce the nation's flood losses and protect and enhance the natural resources and functions of its floodplains." Brock, Donato, and Gallagher proved their knowledge of floodplain management, including topics such as the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), a community's responsibilities, floodplain mapping, coastal flooding, regulatory standards and procedures, flood insurance, flood hazard mitigation, and natural and beneficial functions.
