BOMA Boston update - upcoming programs, golf and TOBY winners

Boston, MA On June 5th, BOMA Boston held a Roundtable on the topic of “The Future of Work.” Julia Georgules, senior vice president, director of research, JLL, provided insight into how workplaces can drive enhanced business performance by better enabling an organization’s largest investment: their talent. 

BOMA Boston held its June Networking Nite at the Archer Hotel in Burlington on June 5th from 5:30 – 7pm. Attendees enjoyed a fun night of industry networking and hors d’oeuvres. These events are held throughout the year as a way for BOMA Boston members and non-members to get together in a convenient downtown or suburban location for an opportunity to network with others in the industry. 

BOMA Boston’s Annual Fishing Tournament took place on June 8th out of Rowes Wharf in Boston. Event participants enjoyed a sunny, successful half-day of fishing followed up by an awards luncheon reception at The Daily Catch in Boston. 

 BOMA Boston’s Golf Tournament will be held on July 9th at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth. This annual tournament draws over 200 attendees for a full day out on the course, followed by a networking dinner reception and Awards Presentation. 

Connect with BOMA Boston on July 17th! Join BOMA Boston for a program from 8 – 9am where attendees will get the chance to meet some of the BOMA board, learn about committee involvement, networking opportunities, BOMI course offerings, how to become more involved with BOMA, and more from the board of directors and members in a casual group setting. BOMA staff will be on site to answer any questions you might have regarding your membership.

BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong with nine courses scheduled this year in Boston. With the educational offerings, BOMA members and non-members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA or FMA designations, or PAC or PMFP certifications. Next up in the series will be a Design, Operations & Maintenance of Building Systems II course running from July 11th through July 19th at the BOMA offices. The course will be instructed by Mike Gill, director of operations, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Cruise into summer with BOMA Boston’s Summer Boat Cruise on July 26th, hosted by the BOMA emerging professionals. Registration and check-in will take place at 5:30 pm, followed by the cruise at 6:00 pm. Climb on board the Music City Queen for great views of Boston Harbor and Boston’s ever-changing skyline. Entertain clients, host a team outing, or just come to network with friends and colleagues. Enjoy a live DJ, hors d’oeuvres and two drink tickets with your registration. We hope to see you there!

The industrial markets have never been stronger. What has happened is that the build out of Devens with new high-tech biotech manufacturing with housing to service these buildings serves as the connector required to really make the I-495 West market sizzle. Worcester has been the beneficiary
