The Bioengineering Group, Inc., and its president, Wendi Goldsmith, were named as finalists in the 6th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business in four categories:
* Best Entrepreneur - Service Businesses - up to 100 Employees - Recognizing individual women entrepreneurs for their achievements;
* Best Overall Company of the Year - Service Businesses - up to 100 Employees: Recognizing businesses owned or run by women for their accomplishments;
* Environmental Stewardship Program of the Year: Recognizing best practices in organizational stewardship of environmental resources; and
* Website of the Year: Recognizing excellence in web sites created and maintained by or for women
The Bioengineering Group is a woman-owned science and engineering consulting and design firm providing a full range of planning, engineering, and landscape architecture services with the goal of providing sustainable development built upon a strong ecological foundation.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run - worldwide. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word "crowned," winners were recognized at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on November 13.
More than 1,100 entries were submitted this year for consideration in 54 categories. The Bioengineering Group submitted an entry in four categories and was a Finalist in all four submitted categories.
