A.W. Perry hires Vantage Builders for 7,500 s/f renovation for Kelmar

Rockland, MA Vantage Builders, Inc. completed a 7,500 s/f office renovation for Kelmar Associates at 1050 Hingham St. The firm was hired by building ownership, A.W. Perry. The project cost was approx. $325,000.

Kelmar, headquartered in Wakefield, Mass., opened the new office as an alternative for its employees living on the South Shore.

To match Kelmar’s collaborative workstyle, Vantage created an open office environment, much different from the office’s previous use by a law firm. The firm constructed 12 offices and 12 workstations, allowing room for expansion. A 16-person conference room with high-end audio-visual equipment was created to facilitate client and internal meetings. The project included significant millwork and new ceilings, floors and door-frames throughout. The entire project was completed within six weeks.

The project team included Sierra Architects and engineering services from C3. The new office is located on the building’s second floor.

1050 Hingham St. is a 40,000 s/f first class suburban office building located off Rte. 3 at exit 14.

“We recently completed a significant common area upgrade project at 1050 Hingham St., which helped us attract excellent new tenants like Kelmar and the South Shore Chamber of Commerce,” said June Cunniff, vice president and property manager of A.W. Perry. “Vantage did a terrific job with the building renovations and was an obvious choice for Kelmar’s office buildout. We appreciate their team’s attention to the details that are important to tenants, as well as their ability to work within tight deadlines.”

Ask the Electrician: How do I prepare my commercial building for a disaster?

New England’s notorious weather – from fierce winter storms to summer squalls and fall hurricanes – can leave businesses in the dark. While power outages are often blamed on storms, they can also be caused by unforeseen events like accidents or construction mishaps. While it’s impossible to prevent disasters and power outages entirely, proactive preparation can significantly minimize their impact on your commercial building.

When it comes to corporate interior spaces for both commercial and industrial projects, partnering with a design-build firm with in-house interior design services can offer clients many benefits. State legislature ends session without passing PLA bill - by Joe Camilo

Massachusetts taxpayers dodged a bullet when the state Senate didn’t take up legislation passed by the House in the waning moments of the legislative session that would have made it easier for municipalities and state agencies to use union-only project labor agreements (PLAs) on construction projects.
