Associated General Contractors of Mass. to mark 100 years with Centennial Gala May 23

Boston, MA The Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) will celebrate 100 years of supporting and advancing the commercial construction industry with a gala celebrating its centennial anniversary on Thursday, May 23rd from 5 – 9 p.m. at The State Room, 60 State St. Former secretary of labor and mayor of Boston Martin Walsh will provide the keynote address.

“The leadership and membership of AGC MA have worked together for a century to ensure that our industry is meeting the challenges of today while embracing the world of tomorrow. Our resourcefulness, resilience, and hard work helped create the modern built environment,” said AGC MA CEO John Ferrante. “At the same time, we have prioritized and championed the needs of our workforce, establishing and ensuring the safety and health protocols and protections that have made the construction sector a supportive place to build a long-lasting and satisfying career. We look forward to celebrating all of our accomplishments – and embracing the exciting and challenging future ahead of us.”

The AGC MA Centennial Gala will take place immediately following the association’s Annual Membership Meeting and presentation of Member Distinction Awards. As AGC MA enters its second century, it continues to expand its offerings and its membership alike, with 40 new firms, including general contractors, subcontractors, and affiliates, joining the association over the past five years. AGC MA is a chapter of the national Associated General Contractors of America which provides a full range of services satisfying the needs and concerns of its members, thereby improving the quality of construction and protecting the public interest in partnership with its Chapters.

AGC MA received its charter in 1924 and was incorporated in 1935. The chapter has 200 members in locations ranging from Cape Cod to the New York border. Its mission is to provide its members with powerful programs, services, and initiatives that strengthen their competitive advantage and promote the economic strength of the commercial construction industry in the Commonwealth.
