Associated Builders & Contractors Mass. Chapter unveils Beam Club Recognition Wall

The Mass. Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has unveiled the Beam Club Recognition Wall. The Beam Club recognizes members who actively recruit five or more members. "The strength of ABC is in its membership and in our members actively recruiting others to join. This is a fitting tribute to those who have taken the time to become active in our organization and we are proud to recognize them," said chapter president and CEO Greg Beeman. Currently, 90 MA chapter members have earned Beam Club status. In addition to recognizing those who have achieved this status, the hope is to create an incentive for others to become Beam Club members. This tribute would not have been possible without the hard work of 2012 ABCMA membership committee chair Ray Caruso of CE Floyd Co.. Ray has worked tirelessly recruiting new members and has recruited over 228 members to ABC. Caruso has also twice been recognized as National Beam Club member of the year. C.E. Floyd Co. donated their time and material to design and build a wall at ABC Mass. headquarters to recognize Beam Club Hall of Fame members. The project includes the actual installation of steel I-Beams, which are used as shelves to display plaques with names of each Hall of Fame member. All other time and materials were donated by ABC members. Those members are as follows: Electrical Dynamics, Inc; Mill City Iron; Tenant Systems, Inc.; and W.T. Kenney Company, Inc. Nationally, ABC represents more than 25,000 firms in 79 chapters. ABC members subscribe to the merit shop philosophy that all construction contracts should be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, regardless of labor affiliation. This maximizes opportunities for workers and contractors, and also provides best value for taxpayers and building owners.
