ARC to create new master plan for proposed renovations at St. Mark's

ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge has been hired by St. Mark's School to create a new Master Plan for proposed renovations of their historic main building. St. Mark's is an independent co-educational boarding school for 335 students in grades 9-12, located in Southborough. Founded in 1865, the school focuses on excellent academics and provides a rigorous liberal arts program that stems from a classical tradition. "St. Mark's is one of the region's premier boarding schools, and we're very excited to work with the school on this Master Plan," said Philip Laird, AIA, LEED AP, president of ARC. "The design team will study the existing campus closely for possible design innovations and focus on how to incorporate green design into all proposed renovations." The Main Building, in which most of campus life at St. Mark's takes place, is the center of the master plan. The project involves programming and planning renovations to the school's historic main building which encompasses the core of the academic spaces including math, English, history, and language classrooms as well as science labs. This comprehensive plan will also include renovations to dining and kitchen areas, student and faculty residences, the chapel, library, and administrative offices.
