AGC of Mass. to host Integrated Project Delivery program on March 30

On March 30, AGC of Massachusetts will host a program on Integrated Project Delivery and Building Information Modeling at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. At a time when the construction industry is searching for ways to eliminate waste, cut costs, improve productivity and create positive outcomes for projects, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is emerging as the process of choice among astute owners. The IPD process leverages the experience, talent and input of all team members in a collaborative manner to obtain the best results and increase value for the owner. In addition to being highly collaborative and seeking input from project team members, IPD allows member companies to leverage Building Information Modeling by creating a virtual design of every element of a construction project's process. Three professionals who have successfully worked through the process will share their experiences with you in a panel forum. John Tocci, CEO, Tocci Building Companies; Scott Simpson, principal, KlingStubbins; and Jim Frey, senior vice president, Alberici Group of St. Louis. Registration and a light breakfast will begin at 7:45 a.m. followed by the program from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Fee is $95 for members and $130 for nonmembers. Sponsor for the panel discussion is Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP. Register online at www.agcmass.org. AGC of Massachusetts is a professional construction association representing the majority of firms providing building construction services for commercial and institutional clients in the Commonwealth. The association offers valuable management education and safety training programs, on-going regulatory updates, legislative initiatives, construction industry trends and information through its publications and meeting agendas.

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
