Abbot Building Restoration completes restoration of Harbor Health Services' front and courtyard facade
Abbot Building Restoration Company, Inc. completed a major restoration of the front and courtyard façades at the current home of Harbor Health Services, Inc.
A former nursing home that had been abandoned, the building was purchased by Harbor Health Services in 2008 to be used for their corporate offices and an adult care facility. Harbor Health employed Bowdoin Construction to renovate the building, and Abbot was hired by Bowdoin as the masonry subcontractor for the building envelope work.
As part of the renovation, Abbot repaired the front façade by applying a new stucco surface, repointed the red brick areas, and replaced the flashing above the windows as required. In the rear of the building adjacent to the courtyard, Abbot removed all of the mortar joints and repointed the entire brick facade, and replaced the flashing on the interior of the parapets.
