2024 Women in Construction: Samira Da Silva, Bridgeline Exteriors

Samira Da Silva
Central Office Administrator
Bridgeline Exteriors

What has been the driving force behind your success in the AEC industry? There is no greater motivation than when you walk around the city and admire the beautiful buildings that you and your co-workers have contributed to. The challenges we faced during the project were all worth it in the end. At Bridgeline, we take pride in the high quality of our work, which is always executed with meticulous attention to detail.

What is your favorite / most beneficial part of Women in Construction week? I take pride in seeing our space being recognized and respected, knowing that many women in the past suffered so we could be where we are today. This is our chance to prove to the world our capabilities and demonstrate that the fight for our space was worth it.

What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? My greatest achievement was collaborating with the company to manage costs, anticipate potential losses, and make preventive decisions with project managers to ensure project profitability.

Who or what inspired you to join the AEC industry? I have worked with many women, and some of them I didn’t work with but heard about their greatest achievements. All of them inspire me to keep growing in this industry.

What are your goals for the future? My goals are to invest in myself by studying and learning more - never stop because knowledge is never too much - so that I can offer high-quality work to my company and take it to the next level

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
