2024 Women in Construction: Nicole Colovos, Groom Construction Company, Inc.

Nicole Colovos
Assistant Project Manager
Groom Construction Company, Inc.

What is your favorite / most beneficial part of Women in Construction week? My favorite part of Women in Construction week as a young female is the sense of empowerment and camaraderie that comes with knowing there are other women out there breaking stereotypes and succeeding in a male-dominated industry. Its inspiring to see fellow females thriving in roles traditionally held by men, and it gives me the confidence to pursue my future goals within the construction field. This week is a great opportunity to showcase our skills and abilities, proving that gender should never be a barrier to success. Women in Construction week highlights the strength and resilience of women in construction, and I feel proud to be a part of it.

What are your goals for the future? As a young woman in the construction industry, my goal for the future is to continue building my career by gaining more experience in pre-construction planning and project management. In the near future, I see myself applying for graduate level school to receive a master’s degree in construction management or civil engineering. I also aim to become a leader in the industry by setting a positive example for other women who are interested in pursuing a career in construction.
