TSLI/HHB will honor John C. Irwin, President of Irwin Contracting, Inc. in recognition of his outstanding contributions to our agency and the Community. The celebration will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 6:30 pm at the Long Island Sheraton, Motor Parkway, Smithtown, New York. John Irwin is the founder and President of Irwin Contracting Inc., a full service contracting organization established in 1986. The firm has an expansive portfolio of commercial, municipal, and residential projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. Services include renovations, new building construction, construction management, and design-build services for both public and private sectors. In 2010, Irwin Contracting was named Contractor of the Year by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry and won the Small Business Achievement Award from the Hauppauge Industrial Association. John, along with Irwin Contracting, has worked with TSLI and HHB for over 17 years. John has a passion for construction and works hard to ensure the professional completion of each project through effective communication. John has always held TSLI/HHB in the highest regard because of their attention to detail and their personnel’s sincere involvement in the well being of the community at large; particularly addressing homelessness in our local area. John has always had a special interest in homeless housing, working with many non-profit agencies over the years, in development and management capacities. John has been supporting the community for years, including Make-A-Wish, St. Jude’s, Four Diamonds Fund for Children, Contractors for Kids, and World Trade Center Memorial, to name a few. John’s hobbies include traveling, boating, and skiing, but the best times are shared with family. With his wife Susan, John shares 4 children and 9 grandchildren. In the future John hopes to spend as much time as possible with all of them.
