2024 Women in Construction: Elizabeth Spath, Cushman & Wakefield

Elizabeth Spath
Director of Project & Development Services
Cushman & Wakefield

What has been the driving force behind your success in the AEC industry?

The passion to be challenged and the reward for providing innovative solutions to our clients. In the AEC industry, the projects we work on are varied and each has its own complexities and unknowns. I find it best to solve issues as a team: it’s critical that we listen and understand what our client is striving to achieve and get all the information on the table so expectations are set and understood. The power of collaborating as a team allows us to leverage each other’s knowledge and build a successful project; this is motivating and keeps us excited about our job.

What are your goals for the future?

To practice the power of networking. I have learned over the past year from a colleague how vital networking is to success. Networking not only builds and maintains business, but it allows us to get involved in community organizations, give our time to philanthropy, mentor or be a mentee and grow our career and confidence. I am fascinated and exhilarated each day when I connect people, make new connections and give back by sharing my time, knowledge and experiences.
