“A talented and dedicated employee, Vrajesh has a strong understanding of architectural principles and brings a distinct analytical skillset to our project management team. A key member of two Columbia committees, he consistently extends himself beyond the bounds of his role to contribute to the continuous improvement of our firm. Vrajesh’s passion for his career and commitment to the industry extends outside the office to volunteerism and development efforts with AGC MA. I am fortunate to work side-by-side with such a well-rounded, driven, and knowledgeable ‘Rising Star’ in the construction industry.” - Shaun Lover, President at Columbia.

How do you balance your rising career with your personal life? Possibly the most difficult aspect of my life is balancing personal life and my career, but it was important for me to understand that life/work balance is not one size fits all. I’ve only recently begun focusing on the life aspect by explicitly putting myself first and giving each activity 100% of my attention. Focusing on the things that matter: family, friends, goals, etc., has strengthened the balance between life and work for me.

Who are the key people in your life that have contributed to your success? There are too many to name when it comes to those who have contributed to my success: my friends, colleagues, but most importantly, it’s my parents. Immigrants coming to America, they had a lot to overcome in their lives to provide a better life for both my brother and me. Through their hard work and dedication, I am the person I am today.

Outside of your career, where else do you seek continuous learning and personal growth? Community outreach and leadership are areas where I seek continuous learning and personal growth. As an active member of the AGC MA’s Committee for Diversity & Inclusion (CFDI) and Construction Leadership Council (CLC), I’ve been able to grow professionally and personally. AGC has given me opportunities to serve the communities of Boston and shape the future of construction for the better

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
