What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year?
Rent Control – to me it’s deja vu. I observed it coming in the 60s when our industry said “we have the State House under control” and then the progressive movement changed the members of the State House and rent control came about. Our industry needs to wake up or history will repeat itself. Rent control does not produce additional affordable housing. The only way to bring down the rising cost of housing is production. The State House needs to challenge local control to get this done.
What person, project, transaction, or market trend had the greatest impact on your industry this year?
Completion of 205 additional units to existing 800+ units at Hancock Village.
