2023 Women in CRE: Colleen O’Connor, BioMed Realty

What advice would you offer to women getting into the CRE industry? I’ve learned that success in the earlier years of your career is heavily driven by sharpening your strengths in a defined area of expertise to deliver unique value to your team. As you enter the industry think about something you can become an expert in and work hard to continually fine tune those skill sets. It takes a lot of discipline and a desire to continually learn to fine tune these skill sets, but having an area of expertise allows you to drive greater value sooner and will impact the trajectory of your career.
