2023 Women in Construction: Stacey Vega, Connolly Brothers, Inc.

Stacey Vega
Business Development Manager
Connolly Brothers, Inc.

What was your greatest professional achievement or most notable project in the last 12 months? In addition to my work at Connolly Brothers, I am chairperson of the membership committee for ISPE’s Boston chapter, the largest professional association in N.E. for biopharma and life science professionals. Everyone that serves on the committee does so on a voluntary basis. As someone who enjoys doing volunteer work, it’s an honor for me to occupy this role. We have a wide array of members, from students to retirees, and supporting them has been very fulfilling. I also received the Janet Tice Distinguished Volunteer of the Year Award for the work I’ve done to grow and support the chapter.

What tips or advice would you offer to other women who are considering entering the construction industry? I’ve been fortunate to know and work alongside extremely talented women. They taught me the importance of mentorship and the value we bring to this industry in terms of skill set, problem solving, and company culture. My best advice is to find a mentor. I was lucky to have met a phenomenal group of women early on in my career. The support they gave me was invaluable. Mentorship is very important, especially for women in the construction industry. I do my best to provide support and encouragement to students and peers considering careers in the AEC industry.
