What made you interested in seeking a career in the AEC industry?
It started with home improvement shows when I was younger. It looked fun. As I got older and had to think more seriously beyond the fun part of my future, I thought interior design would be a good option as a college major. After graduation, I was offered a job with a general contractor whose niche was interior construction, something I wasn’t familiar with but sounded like I could learn a lot, so I took that opportunity and haven’t looked back.
What tips or advice would you offer to other women who are considering entering the construction industry?
Learn a trade.
