2023 Ones to Watch Rising Stars: Paul Cheremka, Winchester Savings Bank

Paul Cheremka
Vice President, Commercial Lending Group Head
Winchester Savings Bank

Number of years at firm: 1

One thing on my bucket list: I would love to see more of the world and immerse myself in new and wonderful cultures.

When I am not working, I am: Spending time with my three sisters and many nieces and nephews, as well as my French bulldog, Tater.

What recent project, transaction or accomplishment are you most proud of? Just one year ago, I joined Winchester Savings Bank with the opportunity to take a strong commercial lending program to new and amazing heights. Our team responded to the challenge so well that we achieved record asset growth in 2022 while maintaining the exceptional level of service the bank is known for. We are creating partnerships with business owners, which allows the bank to invest locally and support the community, and it helps those companies to do the same. I’m so proud of our group and what we have built at the bank and in the Greater Boston business community.

What makes this nominee a RISING STAR?
“Paul has the skills and network to succeed, but what makes him a rising star is his eagerness to get things done and his willingness to learn. He takes a hands-on approach, brings high levels of integrity and professionalism to his work, and always creates something of value for clients.” - John Carroll, President & CEO at Winchester Savings Bank

Investing in a falling rate environment - by Harrison Klein

Long-term interest rates have fallen by 100 basis points, and the market is normalizing. In December of 2022 I wrote an article about investing in a high interest rate, high inflation market. Since then, inflation has cooled off, and the Fed has begun lowering their funds rate.
